Ryerson Johnson's writing studio, Maine, one of the last pulp writers left, Ryerson passed on a few years back. Johnson penned some Black Bat which became Batman, a few Mike Shane stories, and ghosted many Doc Savage novels (The Motion Menace is one example) as well as having penned many western novels, many of which became motion pictures. Johnson was one of the most prolific writers and a busy editor for Street and Smith among others in the pulp world.
