Ryerson Johnson's writing studio, Maine, one of the last pulp writers left, Ryerson passed on a few years back. Johnson penned Black Bat which became Batman and ghosted many Doc Savage novels as well as having penned some 600 western novels, many of which became motion pictures. Johnson was one of the most prolific writers and a busy editor for Street and Smith among others in the pulp world.
