5. Defining, Recording and Interpreting Behavior
These activities are primarily related to CEC Standard #4 Instructional Strategies, Standard #5 Learning Environments and Social Interactions , and #8 Assessment. They assist in developing direct motivational and instructional interventions and in conducting informal assessment activities. They enhance the learning of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills of individuals with ELN, and increase their self-awareness, self-management, self-control, self-reliance, and self-esteem.
Functional Behavior Assessment
The tasks for this assignment include data collection, interpretation of data, preparation of a proposed behavior intervention plan, the writing of a summary, recommendations, and proposed goals/objectives for an individualized education plan (IEP), and the implementation and documentation of the intervention activities.
